Alternative art journal paper + soft pastel portrait

Alternative art journal paper soft pastel portrait - Creativemag.ro

What to do with the packaging left overs? If you are like me, first thing that comes thru your mind is ‘how can I use that?’ Maybe an art journal out of packaging paper? Yeah, why not? I have this paper from an online order that came last week. What to do with it? I thought a journal will work very well, as I’ve seen this kind of journal sometime when I first started with art journaling, only that I never had the chance to create one.

Click on the post title to read more on how I made this handmade journal!

Mini-Journal page "I trust my intuition" - happy face ;)

Do you remember the mini-journal cover from the other post? The mini journal has glossy paper and it's kinda tricky to work with it, but I've managed to create this read-purple-headed girl who seems very content, she's happy. :-) She's smiling. This is painted on a regular mini-diary I had at hand, so I think it's pretty neat. Maybe I'm going to try to paint a boy next time.

I have to tell you from the beginning that I haven't used the clear stamps for this page. They are too big for the page size anyway. I just grabbed my Fabel Castell grip pencil and begun to do a free sketch.
I came up with this little cute face, which transformed little by little into a more colorful one.

I don't have too many step by step photos, as I was too under the process of painting it, so I totally forgot to take photos. But even so, here is another draft:

Then I added some contour...

I am pretty happy with the final result, although there's always place for a better one.

I've tried to create journal pages before, but none of them turned so beautiful ;-)

She even has some eye makeup! And as I'm a purple fan and I'm using and prefer it when I choose my make-up colors, I had to use it on my girl, too!

I've used aquatone sticks mainly, but also a bit of INKtense pencils for the eyes. INKtense pencils are vivid and vibrant and I love to use them for small details. I've also used some felt cariocas and Uni-ball Signo Angelic (white) Gel Ink Pen (0.7mm) for highlights and dots. When I bought the aquatone sticks I thoought they are more like neocolors II, soft and creamy, but they are waxy and hard to blend when not using water. They say you can use them dry, but I love the creamy feel they have when you add water to them and brush directly from the stick!

DIY Cap-Toe Flats

A great Idea I´m  sure you're familiar with: the cap top fashion is still on and I intend to try this on a pair of flats that I have scratched and cannot wear anymore. You should give it a try too, if you're crafty enough and want to save some money! I'm even thinking to use glitter, saw some awesome DIY shoes with glitter instead of spray, but those look way too glammy to wear them every day. Unless you're really glitter addicted :D as I am. ;)

Happy New year everyone!

Happy New Year!

And hope you all have a great magnificent year!

We have enjoyed a super new year's party with lots of laugh and delicious food, and I only went to bed at 6AM, when I was more than exhausted!

I love this pinky
After 6 hours, I was on my feet again and thought ...why not start 2013 doing something that I truly love and enjoy? So I took my sewing tool and started to sew on this new collar I'm working at these days: a soft pink with silver inserts, gorgeous to wear when spring comes in town. ;)

And because the New Year's Eve we have to shine, I've wore my nails in glitter!

I love this manicure!

And we've enjoyed our xbox by playing bowling and other games.

This is me looking for the ball...

30 Days of Pinspiration!

Pinterest is the place where I find my daily inspiration. It's a place where you can find magnificent inspirational photos that you can save and share with your friends and family.
And the 30 days of Pininspiration present the most beautiful pin boards on Pinterest!

I absolutely love this site! Of course, there are a few others like this one, but none of them is so captivating like Pinterest is! If you're not using Pinterest yet, you should definitely grab an username and start creating your boards! It's easy and ...FREE! To get started, click here. It only takes a few minutes to create your account, but will keep you captivated all day long once you start using it! ;-) So be careful! It can become addicted! The best part is that you can install the PIN IT button, a tool that allows you to save whatever image you like from webpages all over the internet! You just have to click on it and a windows will open, allowing you to choose the board you want that PIN to go. Is that easy!
My Pinterest.com Profile

And if you are not following me yet on Pinterest, here is my page

I have 27 boards, more than 4000 pins and 3500+ likes! 240 people following me and I follow ...2145! My profile is in Spanish, but you can choose among different existing languages.

You can read more about Pinterest here.
I will get back with my favourite boards ever. There are few boards that catch my eye and I would love to share those with you!

Oh, I almost forgot! Only...ONLY 10 days, 11 hours until Christmas! Horay!

Ring, ring, ring. No, not THAT ring ;-)

I've always loved this kind of rings with lots of stones shinning in the light, BUT I wanted one made with my own hands so ..here it is!

The image is not very good, I did not use flash because the colours change if there's too much light.

DIY knotted rope necklace

Found this on Polyvore >>>

DIY: Knotted Rope Necklace

Sail away with this Sunday DIY from P.S. - I Made This (http://psimadethis.com/).
You'll need rope in two different colors, neon duct tape, and a pair of scissors.
Start by cutting a yard of each color rope. Gather them together and make a mariner's
knot in the middle. Add two knots on either side of the middle knot.
Add some color by wrapping small pieces of neon duct tape between each knot.
Finish off each end with duct tape and secure with a slip knot.

The golden laptop

This is my laptop, an ordinary one, so what I've thought: why not make it more fashionable!?

It looks pretty-pretty, isn't it?

And I thought it will stay like that, but guess what?!
I think not!
After one day, it started to show all the fingerprints, and even worse than that, it started to peel off!

I don't have a picture with it right now, but it looks terrible! I guess I didn't use the proper spray, it didn't adhere well to the laptop plastic-like surface.

I feel blessed

And I am {love}

And when I am, I grab some papers, materials and other useful stuff and start "digging the project". What else can I do? It feels sooo good! This is not quite finished as you can see, there's a stem missing on my Inspirational Journal cover, not to mention the leaves, IMAGINE I dyed some beige string with green water colours and totally lost it in the Goodies' box! ;-))) That's so hilarious, isn't it?

And take a look at these color crayons!

After taking the crayons picture, I draw my first silly 'painting' in years!
It was indeed a happy day!

And the first page of my inspirational journal is ...the above one! because when you live the life you imagine everything seems so easy and so handy, even if sometimes can be exhausting!
I can also say: "Imagine the life you want to live", because when you think big! things happen! Imagine, dream with your eyes open and things will come along the way
if you cannot do affirmations, the do imagination!
