30 Days of Pinspiration!

Pinterest is the place where I find my daily inspiration. It's a place where you can find magnificent inspirational photos that you can save and share with your friends and family.
And the 30 days of Pininspiration present the most beautiful pin boards on Pinterest!

I absolutely love this site! Of course, there are a few others like this one, but none of them is so captivating like Pinterest is! If you're not using Pinterest yet, you should definitely grab an username and start creating your boards! It's easy and ...FREE! To get started, click here. It only takes a few minutes to create your account, but will keep you captivated all day long once you start using it! ;-) So be careful! It can become addicted! The best part is that you can install the PIN IT button, a tool that allows you to save whatever image you like from webpages all over the internet! You just have to click on it and a windows will open, allowing you to choose the board you want that PIN to go. Is that easy!
My Pinterest.com Profile

And if you are not following me yet on Pinterest, here is my page

I have 27 boards, more than 4000 pins and 3500+ likes! 240 people following me and I follow ...2145! My profile is in Spanish, but you can choose among different existing languages.

You can read more about Pinterest here.
I will get back with my favourite boards ever. There are few boards that catch my eye and I would love to share those with you!

Oh, I almost forgot! Only...ONLY 10 days, 11 hours until Christmas! Horay!

interiordeziner: Trust Your Instincts

HI there everyone!

It's so good to be back, I've missed this space of mine that seems to transform every day to a larger group of people sending emails and comments. Thank you!

Tonight I've found this post, with the reason why you should go for it and follow your instincts when it comes to interior design. Here is the post, I hope you like it! Lee Brown is an exceptional woman, with THE thing for  interior design!

Trust Your Instincts (click for original post!)

The reason I write this blog is to give you insights on being a designer. In the ecourses I offer, I give you direction to understand and learn the principles of design. Anyone can learn these, but to be truly able to take these lessons and move up a level you need to be able to think and feel like a designer.
All I want to talk about today is to trust your instincts. If you have finished all the education, you will have the fundamentals to be able to make good decisions, even if you don't feel you have the confidence to do so yet. I just want to help you along and guide you to achieving confidence.
Some Tips
PractiseEven if you don't have any paying projects - invent some. If you visit a friends home, take a mental picture and then do a mock proposal to redesign a room. Use your own home, try writing a client brief and creating a scheme for it. See how many different client briefs you can do and you will be amazed on how you treat the same space according to your different client's needs. The only thing this will cost you is your time, but it will give you the confinence to start trusting your understanding of using a brief and putting together a scheme for it. When you write the brief, here are some ideas on what type of design the client may want - a comfortable and cosy home, a pristine design icon, a user friendly family environment, an entertainer's paradise. I guarantee you will enjoy this process and you will feel proud that you can create interesting and different looks for the same space.

Trust Your InstinctsI can't stress this enough. Once you start to become fluent with putting schemes together you will be amazed how quickly you can do it. I can always tell a potentially good designer as they are...

Vintage ice box

For this project, I did a lot of research and it didn't came up easily to find this information, as I was looking for the wrong term ;-)
But after a little research, I figured out what I am looking for and start fresh. Here is what I've found:

LARGE AUTHENTIC HERRICK ANTIQUE ICE BOX SOLID OAK

A video, not quite an ice box - and it doesn't look like the one we havem but here it is:

Some info about dry ice, here.

Here is THE ANTIQUE REFRIGERATOR SITE, some information about the history of refrigerators ;-)
One miniature refrigerator:

OLD Icebox "Automatic" Morrison, ILL T Hinges/Latches
Brass Plate Steel over OAK
Description
Vintage block ice refrigerator/ice box. Probably 20's era.
Made by DOUBLE DUTY AA in Morrison, Ill.
It was called the 'SUPER STEEL AUTOMATIC'.
Brass plate is original as is everything else in the icebox.
Brass plate boasts that it saves food, chills water, and uses less ice.
It's in superior original condition.
All hinges and latches are perfect.
There is absolutely no dings, or dents anywhere in the unit.
It's entirely covered with steel wrap coating over solid oak wood.
Note that the inside is as good, (underneath the steel wrap)
if not better than the outside.
Inside door panels are perfect.  All inside liners are fine.
Two original wire racks and the original galvanized block ice tray.
I pictured a standard 2-wheel dolly next to the unit for size comparison.
It needs a good cleaning and possible refinish if so desired.
Put a block of ice inside, and it's functional.
It's 42-1/2" high x 32-1/2" wide x 22" deep including the large latches.
About 175 to 200 pounds I'm guessing.
It's been stored inside a dry shed for a great number of year.
It's in excellent original condition. It went back inside after the hayfield pictures.

Design and inspiration

I started to look and look further for design inspirational blogs that bring my creativity at a high level and let my mind fly away. I so much love to read all those blogs that are so inspired! Here I had to 'bookmark' this blog: I love the colors and structure and I bookmarked into my fav from the very first second! The link is about vintage bathrooms with class. We are so modern nowadays that we totally forget that old 'glam' a vintage room can have: a bath tube made for special relaxation, a white-so-simple furniture, made from real genuine wood and no other "fake" materials. I, I mean I find it very romantic and sweet! I would love to refurbish old furniture and give it a new face. But here where I live most of the people don't appreciate this "trend" and continue to buy new, poor quality furniture that lasts only a few years, then go again and buy a new one and so on. Even though, I've seen people interested in old stuff, especially if it's a family object. All I have to do is to 'tease' the marketing and see if there is a real potential. But first I'm going to start with my old refrigerator. ;-) You'll see, I'm not going to say anything else!

Also see this page, and this, and this...and this, and maybe this...and you might like this too... ;-)

Inspiration comes along

What can I say? I'm inspired by people and I inspire other people. And when that thing happens, I feel I have given my tribute to the world. It doesn't mean it's just a small thing, all it matters is what that thing means in the people's eyes.

For the last 3-4 months I've been thinking how can I start doing something that actually offers me satisfaction and, of course, a decent income. And I've started to dig even further when I've realised that I love being a designer. A jewels designer, interior designer, fashion designer....And for some time I got my eyes on pinterest.com, a site that produces a great amount of incredible DIY craft ideas that can be easily turned into real project with just a few bucks and a little bit of imagination.

You can find my inspirational pinterest collections right here. I invite you to follow my pins and let yourself inspired by the unicity of every project!

Design. Interior Design

Design! No matter what, it's all about creative stuff! And, of course, something that can be use somehow!
This is one of the many passions I have: interior design. That fact that I've never finished an architecture school made me wonder about my abilities; I am ready to make a change, I'm trying different things (among which is medicine), but I am ready to start over?

Here are some web pages I've found, and wanna check back later.
London, Design Museum: http://designmuseum.org/ (http://designmuseum.org/exhibitions/2012/designs-of-the-year-2012)

The design observer group: http://designobserver.com/

Milk? No, it's Design Milk! http://design-milk.com/

And the one that includes many industries and I love it: Design org: http://design.org/

AND, OF COURSE, THIS ONE: FAB! http://designmuseumshop.com/
At the Design Museum shop we sell the most beautiful, innovative and intelligently designed products and publications from around the world. All proceeds go towards funding the museum.

I am love. I am happy. I can do it. I am a YES person!
